AZ had a great first half of the season and won their last game against PSV with 1-2. Now AZ is the number 5 in the competition with 29 points after 14 games and they are 4 points behind leader Feyenoord. AZ is missing two important players with Dani de Wit and Milos Kerkez so new player Djordje Mihailovic can play his first game for AZ. Bruno Martins Indi and Westerveld are out with injuries.
Line up AZ Alkmaar: Verhulst; Sugawara, Hatzidiakos, Beukema, Mees de Wit; Reijnders, Mihailovic, Clasie; Odgaard, Pavlidis, Karlsson
Vitesse is the number 13 in Eredivisie and had a bad start of the competition. Now they have a new coach with Philip Cocu and also some new players in their squad. Mitchell Dijks can play his first game for Vitesse. He will replace Maximilian Wittek who will miss this game. Vitesse played 2 draws at the end of the first competition against Go Ahead Eagles (2-2) and Ajax (2-2). In December they played some friendlies against Sparta and MSV Duisburg but they lost against them.
Line up Vitesse: Scherpen; Arcus, Flamingo, Meulensteen, Dijks; Bero, Tronstad, Kozlowski; Manhoef, Bialek, Vidovic
AZ is the big favorite to win here but coach Philip Cocu is a very defensive coach and had some success when Vitesse played against Ajax last month. They are very strong in counter attack so I don’t see Vitesse lose here with more than 1 goal.
